Editorial: As more Americans voice opposition to Nobel Peace President Obama’s latest military adventure, there is a significant fact few seem to remember.  Syria is not a western civilization.  It is a client state of Russia – an odd tyranny communists have loved for decades. The Syrian military is largely supplied by soviet equipment.  Syria has never been our friend.  Why then is Russia not responsible for it’s puppet?

While Iran may now be the largest puppet master, but that is just another name for evil so why should American lives and treasure be expended in yet another totalitarian failure?  Granted, if we can safely help refugees escape the carnage, America should provide assistance, but there are no good dogs in this fight and certainly none owned or allied with America.

Theatre Tulsa launches 91st season

TheaterTulsa91Theatre Tulsa has announced its annual kickoff of its new season, with a party for theatre fans, a hit musical and a special opening night.

The long-lasting theatre, now in its 91st season, will open with a kickoff party for fans and supporters Sept. 12 from 5:30-7:30 at Girouard Vines in downtown Tulsa.

“This is our annual party for the local theatre community. Our subscribers, donors, volunteers and fellow theatre people are all invited to celebrate the start of another exciting season,” said Sara Phoenix, artistic director of Theatre Tulsa.

As your administration determines a response to the serious and deteriorating situation in Syria, I urge you to consider the consequences for the Christian minorities across the country of any military action initiated by the United States and her allies.

Christians make up about 10% of Syria’s population, yet they are particularly vulnerable and have become targets of religious cleansing by forces who are determined to establish sharia law. Islamist militant groups, including Al Qaeda, have become increasingly prominent and now control some parts of the country, endangering the Christian residents in those areas.
