Tulsan Eugene Blake to Judge Westminster

New York, NY — The Westminster Kennel Club has selected Tulsa, Oklahoma resident Mr. Eugene Blake as the Non-Sporting Group judge for the 150th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show presented by Purina Pro Plan. Group judging for the historic sesquicentennial event will be held on the evenings of February 2-3 at Madison Square Garden, with breed competitions taking place earlier in the day at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

The Best in Show winner will be crowned at New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden, the original home of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, on February 3 and will be judged by two-time Westminster Best in Show-winning breeder-owner-handler David Fitzpatrick. Tickets for all events at both Madison Square Garden and the Javits Center are on sale now through westminsterkennelclub.org.

Tulsa Educator’s Innovation Wins Grant

Jesse Wren, a teacher at Riverfield Country Day School in Tulsa, has received a $2,000 grant as part of the Voya Financial, Inc.’s 2025 Unsung Heroes awards competition. Wren is the only winner in the entire state of Oklahoma and is one of only 50 winning submissions to receive the award to help fund and bring his program to life. Selected from the hundreds of applications Voya , a leading provider of retirement plans for educators, received from throughout the United States, Wren will now compete with other finalists for one of the top three prizes — an additional $5,000 for third place, $10,000 for second place or $25,000 for first place from Voya Financial.

Memphis Welcomes President Trump’s Action

President Donald J. Trump’s action to deploy federal resources to Memphis marks a powerful step forward in the fight to make Memphis safe again amid its longtime struggle with violent crime. This bold federal-state partnership drew immediate praise from residents, business owners, and area lawmakers as a transformative step to reclaim the city from violent crime and chaos.
 
Residents, who have endured escalating dangers, hailed it as a long-overdue lifeline:

  • “This is an opportunity for us and for our city. I hope we make the most of it,” says an East Memphis business owner.
     
  • “I don’t even feel safe anymore except for the places I know they have security guards… You really don’t know how bad it is in Memphis unless you’ve been a part of it for 40 or 50 years… This has been needing to be done for a long time,” says a longtime Memphis resident.

AG Drummond Seeks Action Against Temu

Attorney General Gentner Drummond, currently campaigning for governor, has issued a request for proposals for outside counsel to investigate and pursue legal action against the Chinese e-commerce company Temu amid concerns of consumer protection violations.

Temu is a popular mobile app and website that offers low-cost goods to consumers. The company is accused of deceiving consumers by unlawfully collecting data and providing that data to the Communist Chinese government as well as engaging in other deceitful practices. Security and privacy concerns and the presence of malware led Apple and Google to suspend the Temu app.

ODOC Agent Interdiction Team

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections is proudly announced Tuesday that Agent Chazdon “Chaz” Anderson, embedded with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics K9 Interdiction Unit, played a vital role in the team being named “National Team of the Year” by the National Criminal Enforcement Association. The honor was awarded at the NCEA Interdiction Conference held in South Carolina on Sept. 10, 2025.

Over the past 12 months, the OBN K9 Interdiction Unit has seized 6,839 pounds of marijuana, two pounds of heroin, 89 pounds of cocaine, 365 pounds of meth and 140 pounds of fentanyl. The unit has also made dozens of arrests, including two individuals on the International Terrorism Federal Watch List, and recovered two endangered children kidnapped from Kansas.
